We are indeed basking in the TLC we get from Patrick. His meals are terrific. I've taken to photographing the dishes for my cordon bleu friends back home. And he is very helpful when things go awry, as when my cell phone ran out of funds, and I had forgotten at home my top up info. He offered us the use of his phone which I use in emergencies only. He delayed dinners when delayed flights and ferry schedules screwed up our friends' arrivals. Now I use skype, & face time as well as a new gmail account to connect. Trinidadian friends laila & Michael and my relatives Neal, Sarah & Mac were so happy to have the experience of the beauty of Bequia & Patrick's delicious cuisine. It really is a paradise.
We prefer the step path to the road for getting to the beach. The steps were initially rather intimidating, not at all like ours, the gradient of which is only half what this one is. But it is a good cardio workout for a senior about to celebrate her 75th next week . Laila, 76, who has an injured knee, used her brace for the climb, & found therapeutic relief in the exercise. Last evening Peter & my brother Mac, who arrived on Monday, walked up to Ivor's house to make the acquaintance of the Lewis-Cappes. I was happy to remain behind & skype friends.
We spend 3 or 4 hours each day on the beach, and are pleased that the winds & undertow have lessened , and the sea bathing is lovely. We are not touring much at all. Nor are we eating out except for a couple of meals. None can compare with Patrick's. For our anniversary dinner last Sat, he did us a four course meal with callalloo soup, bruschetta, curried lobster with salad, and the crowning glory, fondant for dessert, which we had more of for the last 2 dinners. With champagne, if course.
For another meal he surprised us with was a codfish sauté with breadfruit which I 'd not had for decades. Shrimp risotto, or delish Caesar salad for lunch, etc etc we've not had more than 2 dishes more than once. He tailors the meals to our needs perfectly.
Last Wed we were delighted to meet Avril and chat with her & Robin about your villas. We also met Thomas Dehen, who told us about the next phase of Cassava development.. We have also been in touch with the Glasses, friends of Laila's. Kelly & Jankey have homes in La Pompe, a yacht & a private plane. We were given a tour of the Hazells' condos. We were made to feel so much at home on the island.
So as we begin the wind down of this heavenly rest, we will have unique memories of the ambience of Cassava & it's terrific staff.
So thank you , my dear. I hope your business thrives, as you have a lot to offer.
