Set on the beach and in a luscious valley with outstanding views of the Grenadines this estate immerses guests in rustic splendour. Sugar Reef Bequia boasts a bar and restaurant, several lounging areas, and eight distinctive guest quarters divided between two original buildings. The Beach Club contains the Grenadines Grill, a bar and restaurant, plus a lounge area and guest wing with three bedrooms rooms that share a private beach front garden. The French House, an old colonial home, located up a private drive from the beach and commanding panoramic views of Crescent Bay and the Grenadines, has a salt water swimming pool and deep wraparound ocean facing veranda. The Estate Library has books, games and an honor bar, all for the exclusive use of French House guests. All accommodations contain an eclectic mix of antique, vintage and contemporary Caribbean furniture. Their net-draped four-poster beds have sumptuous all cotton percale linens.
Sugar Reef Bequia's eight guest rooms (each given a Grenadines island name) are divided between the Beach Club and French House on a 65-plus acre estate in the center of an awesomely beautiful reef-protected bay. Recently updated by designer Jonathan Berger, Sugar Reef Bequia was originally built 30 years ago of local stone, mahogany, and other natural materials. The structures' eco-friendly designs incorporate deep verandas, cathedral ceilings and French doors and windows to create cooling shade and capture island breezes.
Sugar Reef satisfies the dreams of a select group of guestswho will enjoy living richly local, as the owners do.

Dance barefoot with the yachts and locals
A place to get lost in nature
Three Beach Club Rooms
'Mustique', 'Petit St. Vincent' & 'Petit Martinique'
A huge driftwood-framed hangs on the white walls mirroring a king-sized bed, dressed in heavenly white. Bequia's morning sunrise dapples drowsily on the pale textures, splashing the colorful fabric on the comfortable chairs. A cool breeze blows from the sea, across the palm-shaded garden and private patio, through the open French doors.
Four French House Rooms
Copious antique mahogany and an immense private veranda evoke the languid Caribbean lifestyle of the plantation's 18th century owners. The Master Suite's spacious bedroom with kingsize canopy bed faces the sea on one side and virgin tropical forest on the other. The suite also has a small second room with a single bed for lounging or an additional guest.
A private spiral stair leads to this hidden room with a view of virgin tropical forest and a peek at the sea from its Juliet balcony. The Secret Guests' room has a queen-size, antique mahogany canopy bed. This is Sugar Reef Bequia's most private room.
French windows welcome breath-taking views of the estate, reef-protected bay, and the Grenadines. Large and private, Battowia room has two queen-sized antique mahogany beds facing the sea. (Note: Second bed not pictured.) Balliceaux
Tan, chiseled rocks frame the lush greenery and glorious sea that burst through the three enormous French windows. Balliceaux room has a king-size, antique mahogany canopy bed and stunning views over the estate, reef, ocean and the Grenadines. (Note: There is a sink en suite; the bathroom is in the entryway just outside the room.)
Secluded in the back courtyard by the pool, this stand-alone Caribbean cottage glows with the luster of polished mahogany. The Misstress's Cottage has a queen-size, antique mahogany canopy bed and a view of virgin tropical forest, with a peek of the sea.

Grenadine Escape View Point
'We are delighted that Sugar Reef has opened. It's style and ambiance embody the simple essence that we love about Bequia. Bohemian glamour and ocean life. The hotel makes use of the incredibly beautiful and untouched Crescent beach and sits on Bequia's stunning, jurassic eastern coastline. We sense this is going to be a huge hit!'
Just got home…. Very depressed to be back, but we really loved Bequia so much and thank you so much for your help in finding Sugar Reef.
I can see why you love the island so much… We will definitely come back.

Grenadines Grill - Caribbean Island Cuisine
Sugar Reef Bequia's Grenadines Grill restaurant, currently under renovation, is at the Beach Club. In addition, daily continental breakfast is served daily on the veranda at French House.
Sugar Reef's Grenadines Grill specializes in fresh, local ingredients and exotic, local flavors and dishes. Honey and many fruits come from the working plantation on the estate. In addition, we work directly with Bequia and St. Vincent farmers and fishermen to serve fish, meat, cheese, fruits and vegetables at their freshest.
Sugar Reef Bequia's Grenadines Grill menu is driven by what’s in season. In fact, there is no set menu; the server will describe what’s fresh that day. Our signatures are salads, lightly-cooked vegetables, and tropical fruit sides; most dishes are served with one or both.
Our primary culinary influence is Vincentian cuisine, which owes much to East Indian roots like neighboring Trinidad's cuisine. Other influences are Greek, French, and Jamaican cuisines, reflecting the backgrounds of our West Indian chef and well-traveled Managing Director.
